World Clock App Reviews

Phil: World Clock 1.1

I have been using similar app. for Palm. WC works well. Nice graphics. Iphone clock time zone change directly accessible from WC would be great.

........lets try in english Looks nice, but missing some features Die Applikation ist ganz nett, aber: 1. many city left (ex. Michigan USA) 2. dont possible to add citys without database. I suggest, that i select a time zone and can add new entry with my own city name. 3. No date for clocks - thats perhaps a problem for timezones with other date as my own timezone... is yesterday or tomorrow? 4. I missing painfully the 24 hour clock (digital) ... I dont like analog clocks on my iphone... Hope fix that with the next updates... Thats reason for only 3 Stars.... may be pushed up with the new features... Best Tom

Earth day and night view is awesome!

Travelling far from home I like the world clock a lot- the earth on display gives you a good overview and "feeling" for the timeshift and it just looks awesome! - the date is displayed corresponding to the date line now (update on previous comment!) App works fine and I use it instead of the "on board" world clock. Still there are some small things that would make this app even better, from my point of view: - I would like a feature to prevent the phone from auto-locking and even from low power mode when world clock is running (maybe just when connected to power source?) - choise of clock types displayed (digital 24 hour clock as an option) would be nice - more cities to choose from OR maybe even better renameable clocks Cheers Chris

Please change it to brighter map than the currently have a dark map

This could have been the most important and great application if the background colour is brighter so users will see the different between day and night on the world map. As it is write now it’s too hard to tell which part of the world is day or night. Please change it to brighter map than the currently have a dark map. Thanks

world clock

Nice start for v1.1 Needs more options on/off - brighter/ darker day/ night for map - zoom in Capabilities - twilights on clocks for civil, nautical, asronomical. - moon display - artic circle and tropic of cancer lines - clocks are a little small, perhaps option for fewer but larger clocks - anthing else the programmers can think of

Good app (always has been). Needs a bit of polishing (IMHO)

Gives all the basic functionality of the traditional World Clock machine/application. I agree with the others who say the "oceans" need to be much lighter blue. If grid lines *must* be there, please make them optional. Also add option for "Tropics". Option for "twilight" (a grey border between "day" and "night") would be useful as would grey faces for clocks in "twilight". "Sun" almost disappears at left-most border but is not appearing at right-most border?! Blue-sky options: scrolling graphics to enable user to shift display to most convenient location; ability to "time lapse" into the past or future one full 24 hour period at a time to watch, say, the Suns path across time; zoom into map similar to the way Google Earth works.

Very cool

Boy, Ive been waiting for this sort of app! A similar one came out recently (spinning globe), but has some aesthetic issues. This one is quite useable. A couple of suggestions: It would be nice to add UTC/GMT to the clock choice, and the ability to delete some clocks would be great (we all dont need 6 time zones). Probably tougher to code, but for a future release it would be nice to be able to zoom in / out on regions of interest.

Great Start

Its a great start but could be improved - especially portrait mode. The ability to remove some/all of the clocks, change the clocks to digital would be a welcome addition. I also noticed that the analog clock did not change to "nighttime" until about an hour and a half after sunset - not sure if it just changes over at 6p, however. Very nice graphics, glad I purchased!

Great APP!!

This is just what I was looking for.. but the Landscape view needs to be able to be a full screen. OR have it switch to digital to make room for a larger map Other than that its great...5 Stars for version 1.0

Geochron... almost

Good first effort which is limited by the tiny screen, even in landscape mode. Older eyes (mine) have difficulty seeing the small map. I hope the software continues to evolve. A world map that the user could size would be fantastic to have!

Great for first release

Does need the zoom ability though. The only thing that holds this back from being 5 stars.

Wonderful!

I travel a great deal and was looking for something more "visual" rather than just a bunch of helter skelter time zones. Id give it five stars when they add Prince Edward Island (Charlottetown and / or Summerside) as an option. Well Done!

Needs time comparison

The feature I am looking for in a world clock is the capability to enter an arbitrary time in one time zone, and see the equivalent time in the other time zones I am watching.

Great application

The application is great. Some minor points: It would be nice if the city search returned the country as well as the province. For example I was initially not sure that Colombo (Western) was actually in Sri Lanka. Also why is Mumbai (India) missing as it is a very large city.

Nice App

Would be cool if the app was able to zoom in on the map, to see where the sun is directly overhead. I fixed it from 1 star to 5 stars.

Clock

Doesnt meet my need. Cannot expand map so details can be discerned. Can not add additional clocks. Etc.

Timezone is wrong

The application is good but the research on the time zones is very poor, Just to mention one el paso, tx is not accurate. I hope tolhus is fix soon

GMT, Zulu time unavailable, Dakar will work.

NOT able to locate Greewich mean time. I had to select Dakar for the right setting. Greenwich village is the date line were all clock times start from. Also known as GMT or Zulu time. I dont why a world clock would not have these in thier search.

Needs Updating

Has potential but has not been updated in a over a year. Guess it was a one shot app

Like this but . . .

I really like this but it could use an update to tweak just a few things. Its still worth a buck, however!
